Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 7, 2026
ListenAny ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website listenany.app. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our service.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
ListenAny is designed with privacy by default. We do not collect, store, or retain any files you upload. Documents are processed entirely in server memory to extract text, and are immediately discarded. We do not have access to your document content after your session ends.
We do not require you to create an account or provide any personal information (name, email address, phone number, etc.) to use the service.
2. Data Processed During Use
When you use ListenAny, the following data is processed:
- Uploaded file content — processed in memory to extract text, then immediately discarded. Never written to disk or stored in a database.
- Text-to-speech requests— your extracted text is sent to Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services (Edge TTS) to generate audio. Microsoft's privacy policy applies to this processing. We do not retain the audio files on our servers; they are streamed directly to your browser.
- Server logs — standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, and page visited for security and diagnostic purposes. These logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and are not used for tracking or advertising.
3. Cookies and Analytics
We may use cookies or similar tracking technologies for basic analytics (e.g., page view counts, traffic source) to improve the service. These analytics do not identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.
We use Google Analytics or similar tools that may collect anonymized usage data (pages visited, session duration, general geographic region based on IP). We do not sell this data to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
- Microsoft Edge TTS — powers text-to-speech conversion. Subject to Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
- Google AdSense — may display advertisements on this site. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out via Google Ad Settings.
- Cloudflare — used for DNS, CDN, and DDoS protection. Cloudflare may process your IP address and request headers.
5. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
6. Your Rights
Since we do not store personal data about you, there is typically nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have concerns about data retained in server logs, please contact us and we will address your request within 30 days.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
